Pepe’s Garden began in 2015, with a deep love for flowers, creativity,
and connection. What started as a small dream has grown into a
beautiful, ever-evolving floral space here in the Illawarra
— one that’s rooted in emotion, artistry, and the moments
that matter most.

I’m Anita, the founder behind Pepe’s. A florist, a maker, a mother to
my two girls Daphne and Zinnia, and someone who truly believes
flowers hold energy — they speak when words fall short, they
celebrate, big joy, they soften, they heal. Pepe’s Garden is a reflection
of all of that. Wild at heart, a little romantic, a little playful — and always created with intention. I just LOVE flowers, and their seasons, its literally like seeing old friend, when you haven’t seen them for a whole year, they’re still gorgeous and just as you remembered them.

From My Hands to Yours

Pepe’s Garden is more than a florist — it’s a piece of my life.

Between school runs, dancing days, early market mornings and late nights during busy seasons, this business has grown alongside my girls and my family life. Ive worked many hours literally about to pop when pregnant with my girls… I mean what an amazing place it would be to give birth, in a flower shop!!

You’ll often find Daphne and Zinnia popping into the shop, helping unwrap flowers, or adding their own little magic behind the scenes.

There’s a lot of love here — and I hope you can feel that in the flowers.

We care deeply about the environment — but we also believe in being honest about it.

The truth is, in today’s world, it’s almost impossible to be 100% environmentally friendly. Our phones, our cars, the way flowers are grown, transported, and even the tools we use every day… it all has an impact.

Flowers themselves can travel far. Some are grown locally, others are imported, and each comes with its own footprint.

With over 16 years in the floral industry, and having worked across Sydney and Melbourne before creating Pepe’s Garden in 2015, we’ve built long-standing relationships with our growers — many of whom we’ve worked alongside for over a decade through the Sydney Flower Markets.

These relationships matter to us. They allow us to be more thoughtful about where our flowers come from, to support local growers where possible, and to choose quality blooms that are made to last.

So instead of striving for perfection, we focus on doing our part — thoughtfully and consistently.

At Pepe’s Garden, we:

  • separate and minimise our waste wherever possible

  • recycle and reuse materials where we can

  • choose locally grown flowers when available

  • support Australian-designed and made giftware

  • prioritise pieces that are made to be kept, not thrown away

We’re always learning, always evolving, and always trying to make better choices — for our community, our growers, and the future.

It may not be perfect, but it’s intentional. And it matters.
